About

Camera Sense features the photographic work and writings of Richard Rivera,
a fine art photographer, graphic designer, painter, illustrator, and writer.

Richard Rivera’s Eagles of New York™ is a photographic celebration of the eagle in the architecture and sculpture of New York City. Rivera photographed hundreds of eagles in dozens of New York locations in the five boroughs preparing for his touring exhibition.

Rivera is a member of New York Journal of Books Reviewer Panel where he
regularly reviews art and photography books. He is the photographer and author of Creative Obsession: Reflections on the Life and Art of Jacob Lipkin. It is the only authorized biography of the prominent American sculptor who exhibited nationally from 1940
to 1979.

Rivera’s illustrations and paintings have appeared in magazines such as Time, True (Fawcett Publications), and Anno Domini. They have also appeared in Nuestro, the first national monthly magazine in English for Latinos; New Music Connoisseur, the contemporary music magazine; and graced the covers of paperback books for Ace, Ballantine Books, and Scholastic Publications.

Rivera was co-producer and writer of the award-winning series TalkFiction (Time-Warner Cable), stills photographer for various independent films, and as art director re-designed the music magazine New Music Connoisseur.

Rivera’s photographs are in the permanent collection of Brooklyn Museum.
